Sandpoint Writers on the Lake
Idaho Writers' League - Sandpoint Chapter

"Writing at best is a lonely life." - Ernest Hemingway

...but it doesn't have to be.

We’re a friendly group of writers — some published, some working on a first piece.

We write fiction and non-fiction, novels, short stories, poems, memoirs, time travel, science fiction, romance, mystery, historical drama …every genre.

We write for adults, young adults, teens, and little kids; for magazines and newspapers; for scholars, ‘everyman,’ travelers …readers of all tastes.

“If you want to be a writer you must do two things above all others: read a lot, and write a lot.” -Stephen King

We also …

…do critiques at each meeting

…do timed writing exercises

…share writing tips and resources

…host an annual writing contest

…host an annual writing retreat

…participate in Idaho Writers League conferences and workshops

…discuss all things ‘writing’ related

Sandpoint Writers on the Lake chapter of the Idaho Writers League meets the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at the East Bonner County Library, 1407 Cedar Street (southwest corner of Division and Cedar).

All writers, aspiring writers, “wanna-be” writers and more are welcome. Three complimentary meetings are offered prior to official membership. Dues are $35 annually.
